Ingredients

Instructions

  • Pour unsweetened almond milk into the blender base.
  • Spoon in Greek yogurt and add packed baby spinach on top.
  • Add frozen banana (sliced into chunks) and frozen mixed berries.
  • Sprinkle in chia seeds and add protein powder and honey if using.
  • Blend on high for 45-60 seconds, stopping once to scrape down the sides, until completely smooth.
  • Check consistency and add more almond milk if needed. Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Freeze the banana ahead: Slice it before freezing so it blends evenly and creates a thick, creamy texture.
  • Use frozen berries: Frozen berries add cold thickness without diluting flavor like ice would.
  • Taste before sweetening: Ripe bananas and berries are often sweet enough without adding honey.
  • Pre-portion freezer bags: Store the banana, berries, and spinach together in a freezer bag so all you need to do is add liquid and blend.
  • Adjust consistency: Add almond milk one tablespoon at a time if the smoothie is too thick.
  • Dairy-free option: Replace Greek yogurt with plain unsweetened coconut or soy yogurt.
  • Boost protein: Add an extra scoop of protein powder or extra Greek yogurt for more protein.
  • Lower-carb version: Cut the banana in half and add a few ice cubes to maintain volume and thickness.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir before drinking.
  • Freeze finished smoothie: Pour into a freezer-safe container, leave 1/2 inch headspace, and freeze for up to 1 month.
